Canyon Mine Court of Appeals Decision

On February 22, 2022, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco ruled that the Forest Service could ignore the total past costs of developing Canyon Mine when weighing the profitability of the uranium mine. The Grand Canyon Trust and partners had appealed an earlier ruling by a district court in Arizona that allowed the uranium mine to operate on national forest land outside of Grand Canyon National Park. Read the February 2022 decision ›
